Build a Database.
Every time you establish a link (a helpful community associate) make sure you
take there full details of how they can help your cause. How they have helped in
the past and in what way they have offered there help in the future. Remember "a
friend in need is a friend indeed" and "one good turn deserves another".
Although your main objective is your good cause, try to also help them in some
small way. Even if it's only a token gesture it will probably not be forgotten.
Put together a simple database that will keep this type of important information
together, and make sure it is easily accessible to all the committee. Note on
your database the date when you last spoke to them and a brief description of
the outcome and or who else has spoken to them from your committee. Put together
an event database, which shows what events have been done and when. What the
costs where and what was the overall profit after expenses. If your a real whiz
or you have decent software you could produce a graph an easily see your best
results. Never let an event or even a stall at an event go by without keeping a
record of this information, it will pay dividends many times over, and stop you
wasting time on duds. Events or stalls that may cost a lot to put on but make no
money at all. It is not essential that you keep your records on computer, a
filing system would do, but by virtue of the fact you are using a computer to
access this information you are probably into computers even if in only a small

From: Ray at Claydon Carpets. Flooring
Contractors to Charities, Schools and Associations.
We have now been in business around 15
years in the U.K. Most of our work can be seen at schools, colleges, and sport
centres. We also quote for part or full fittings. No job yet has been to large
or small. We specialise in hardwaring cord carpet. It is also ideal in a
charities office etc.and comes in a full range of colours and styles. Our
estimates are free and very competitive. Should you mention charities
partnership when you have a fitting from us, I will gladly give you completely
free a playmat to cover a dusty or splintery area. References available upon
Charities Partnership are always delighted
to assist organisations in any way we can, however sometimes we are so busy
helping charities etc. we often over look promoting our own site as much as we
would like to. If you could help us by putting a link to our site from your
organisation's site it would be greatly appreciated, and it would also enable us
to further help others. If you would like to, e-mail us and let us know you have
helped in this way as it would be nice to thank you
Thank you for your time and interest, from the team at charitiespartnership.com
